Join us to get embodied at ecstatic dance! This is free movement to shake the soul.
We dance for an hour to a curated playlist based on Gabrielle Roth's 5 Rhythms - a wave of textures, speeds and feelings that mimics the rhythms of life: flowing, striking, chaotic, joyous and still.
At ecstatic dance we encourage moving from the inside out. This practice is guided by YOU! Let your ego take a break and use the space for what you don't have space for elsewhere: fall apart, stand in, play, cry, sit, roll, howl or leave! This is a space to find the truth of each moment, in yourself and as a part of the collective (and to get some good exercise!)
No experience is required.
We begin with an introduction to the practice, grounding, intention setting and often close with a special guest treat. In the past that has included: sound baths, live song, connective breath.
This is an embodiment practice, meaning we are practicing inhabiting our lives and the present moment vs. thinking about it. It can often feel very vulnerable to move and be in this way yet inhabiting our lives courageously (with our fear) is so often the key to grounded, centered vitality and strength.
All ages, all bodies welcome.
