💧 Ecstatic Dance: Tending Our Inner WatersAn Elemental Journey into Water | November 15, 2026
“Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it.”
— attributed to Lao Tzu
Water holds memory.
It takes the shape of what surrounds it, yet over time, it also shapes what it touches. It can be gentle enough to flow through our fingers and powerful enough to carve through stone.
Water teaches us that softness is not weakness. That yielding does not mean losing ourselves. That we can remain fluid while staying connected to our center.
As autumn gives way to winter, we turn toward the element of Water — the season of depth, stillness, conservation, and the wisdom of turning inward.
In the Five Element tradition, Water is associated with fear, while Fire, the element of summer, is associated with joy. Water has the power to temper Fire, just as fear can sometimes quiet the joy and warmth within us.
Yet fear also carries wisdom. It can remind us to pay attention, honor our boundaries, and protect what is precious.
How do we honor the wisdom of fear without allowing it to extinguish our inner fire?
As we enter a season that can ask so much of us, Water reminds us to tend our own depths.
The approaching holidays can stir many layers — joy and grief, connection and loneliness, gratitude and longing, celebration and exhaustion. Old memories may rise, familiar patterns may return, and the demands of the season may begin to draw upon our inner reserves.
Before stepping fully into this season, let's give ourselves space to listen.
To notice what is moving beneath the surface.
To soften what has become rigid.
To release what we are ready to let go of.
To recognize where our energy is flowing and where it may be draining away.
And to nourish the inner reservoirs that sustain us.
On November 15, we gather for an Ecstatic Dance journey exploring the many expressions of Water — its fluidity and force, its tenderness and depth, its capacity to adapt and its power to transform.
Through music, movement, and moments of stillness, we'll explore what it means to remain open and responsive to life without losing ourselves in its currents.
There is no right way to move through this journey. Every body, every rhythm, and every emotion is welcome. You may find yourself flowing, shaking, celebrating, resting, or simply listening to what your body needs.
What if we could remain fluid without losing our center?
What if we could trust the currents of life without needing to control where they take us?
Perhaps Water invites us to remember that strength isn't always found in resistance. Sometimes it is found in softening, in listening, and in trusting ourselves enough to let go.
