Newcastle University and Virgin Money invite you to attend this flagship event featuring the Bank of England. The event will bring together students, entrepreneurs, business leaders and professionals from across the North East to explore the economic outlook for the UK and our region.
We are pleased to welcome Mauricio Armellini, Agent for the North East, Bank of England as our keynote speaker. Mauricio works closely with businesses and organisations across the North East, gathering insights that help inform the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee and wider policy discussions. Drawing on this regional perspective, he will provide an update on the economic outlook, covering inflation, interest rates, labour market conditions, business confidence and the factors shaping monetary policy, followed by a live Q&A.
This event is an official Fringe Event of North East Entrepreneurship Week 2026 a region-wide initiative which aims to create new connections and support ambitious businesses to start, grow and scale across the North East and is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week; 11-20 November.
The event will begin with breakfast and networking, offering valuable opportunities to connect with entrepreneurs, investors, academics and business leaders from across the region
