About this Event
Eco Printing is the art of printing material, often botanical, using natural ingredients.
Typically we use cotton, linen, silk or wool, and in this workshop you’ll be using leaves to print from in a dye pot.
We use soy milk, rust water, onion skins and vinegar and that’s it. No nasty chemicals.
There will also be a chance to print on paper.
By the end of the workshop you will have had practise in using a dye pot and understand how to set up one of your own at home.
You will also have some samples to take away along with a handout with all the information you need.
Please bring your own apron and wear old clothes.
Bring your own lunch for the break - tea and coffee provided.
This workshop runs all day with a break for lunch. Morning session 10-12.30 , afternoon session 2.30-5pm.
You must be over 18 to attend this workshop.
About Maureen:
Maureen is an experienced knitter and felt maker, whose work has been sold through Gallery One and various markets in Kerry. She is also a master at eco printing, which she has been doing for a number of years.
Coming from a science background, she likes to record her adventures in eco-printing, but is always thrilled by the surprises that it throws up too.
She works from a wind-swept studio not far from Bray Head, which overlooks the sea, and she takes her inspiration from the beautiful landscape around her.
