"It is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it." – Nelson Mandela Inspired by the Boston Children’s Chorus’ tour to South Africa, Echoes of Freedom explores music born from struggle and hope from across the world, and the enduring belief that a more just world is possible. This program highlights songs that sustained communities through oppression, gave voice to resistance, and carried dreams of liberation into the future. Drawing from South African freedom songs alongside music from the United States and beyond, Echoes of Freedom invites audiences to imagine a world where opportunity is not determined by race, class, or circumstance, where communities work together to create a more equitable future.
