Join pianist Junwen Liang for an evening of American classical piano music at PianoWorks in Duluth as part of his 2026 Georgia concert tour.
"Echoes Across Horizons: American Voices in Classical Piano" explores the many musical traditions and cultural voices that have shaped American classical music. The program moves from Amy Beach’s dreamlike Les Rêves de Colombine and expressive works by Florence Price and William Grant Still to beloved Rodgers & Hammerstein melodies reimagined by Stephen Hough, Earl Wild’s dazzling Gershwin transcriptions, Philip Glass’s hypnotic Étude No. 6, and Tan Dun’s dramatic The Banquet Sonata.
Throughout the evening, Junwen will also offer brief spoken introductions, sharing stories and context behind the composers and their music and creating an accessible experience for longtime classical listeners and newcomers alike.

Based in Philadelphia, Chinese pianist Junwen Liang serves as Instructor & Collaborator in Piano at the University of Pennsylvania. Over the past two seasons, he has presented more than 75 performances across the United States, China, and Canada through solo recitals, university residencies, masterclasses, and community programs.
His recent EP, Colombine, released through Manus Label, features music by Amy Beach and Florence Price and has been featured by Interlude HK and Meet the Artist.
