Eboni Fondren has a way of making a familiar song sound like something she needs to tell you personally. The Kansas City vocalist moves between swinging jazz, intimate ballads, and R&B feeling, with a stage presence that makes a small room feel electric.
Her debut album, The Journey: To Kansas City with Love, honors the city and the musicians who shaped her. Her work has taken her from Kansas City to the G20 Summit in India as a jazz ambassador and to Paris, where she recorded An American in Paris with the Laurent Marode Orchestra.
Named Favorite Jazz Vocalist by the KC Jazz Ambassadors three years running, from 2021 through 2023, Fondren brings both polish and personality to the bandstand. Friday offers two chances to hear her at 18th & Vine.
