Join this family-friendly event. Activities will reveal how to grow culturally appropriate foods on our library balcony.About this Event
In 2025, Wood Green Central Library welcomed a new addition – an innovative inner-city food farm located on the balcony, complete with raised beds, and a greenhouse.
Come find out more about urban greening with activities led by Black Rootz facilitators to reveal how to grow culturally appropriate foods using organic principles.
Visitors will be encouraged to get their hands in soil, learn where their favourite foods come from and discuss traditional, medicinal or cultural uses for specific crops evoking a sense of belonging and connection tied to historic, cultural land, food and produce. Eat Wood Green is a program from The Ubele Initiative and part of The Wolve Lane Horticultural Centre.
