Join us for another informal community conversation hosted by East Lansing Mayor Pro Tem Chuck Grigsby and Councilmember Steve Whelan:📅 Wednesday, November 11
⏰ 5:30 - 7 p.m.
📍 Grand Traverse Pie Company
1403 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing
This gathering offers a chance to sit down together, ask questions, share perspectives, and talk through what’s happening in our community.
The conversation will be open-ended, so bring the issues you care about, something you want to better understand, or an idea you’d like City Council to consider. You’re also welcome to simply come listen and get to know your City Councilmembers a little better.
Feel free to bring your friends and neighbors, and we look forward to seeing you on Nov. 11th!

Why are we having this conversation?
We recognize that formal Council meetings don't always provide the opportunity for a relaxed, two-way conversation. Smaller, informal settings allow more room for discussion, giving everyone a chance to share ideas, ask and answer questions, listen, and talk openly about the issues affecting East Lansing.
This gathering builds on previous community conversations held on May 18 and Sept. 24 (with Councilmember Kerry Ebersole Singh), and we hope to welcome other Councilmembers to future conversations.
Everyone is welcome to attend these conversations, even if you haven't attended a previous one. You also don't need to follow every Council meeting to participate; in fact, we especially hope to hear from people who may not normally attend or speak at formal city meetings.
Whether you've called East Lansing home for decades, recently moved here, or live here while attending MSU, you are an East Lansing resident and part of our community. Your experiences and perspectives matter, and we look forward to hearing from you!
