In order to refresh your Surf Lifeguard Award or Patrol Support award, you need to carry out two activities. I am sorry that this is so complicated, we are trying to be as straightforward as possible in explaining. The first is to complete your online theory refresher. To do this, go to the SLSNZ Portal
https://memberportal.surflifesaving.org.nz/
and log in. Your userid is ‘SLS_NNNNNN’ where NNNNNN is your SLSNZ membership number. If you do not know this, email [email protected]. Once you have your number, make a note of it (maybe put it as a contact in your phone)
Your password is whatever you have set, if you cannot remember, request a password reset. This will go to whatever email is in the system for you, it may be an old one or your parents.
If you cannot get your password to work, email [email protected]
Then go to ONLINE Learning -> EtrainU
Then Training Library -> Refreshers and enroll in the Patrol Support Refresher 202x/202y
Do the theory part.
Then you need to log yourself onto the practical component, you do this in etrainu and the video that shows this is here -
For the practical, make sure you have a hi-vis vest and the run/swim/run needs to be done with fins. Either bring your own or be okay taking a pair from the patrol racks.
I realise this is very complicated and might be overwhelming, we have asked and continue to ask for the system to be simplified but in the meantime these instructions might help.
If you do fail with any of this, turn up to the practical and we will sort things out at the end, do not leave the practical until we have done this.
