East Ed Futures Roundtable
Shaping Curriculum Futures: Creativity, Change and Opportunity in East London’s Schools
Thursday 29 January 2026
09:00–13:30
V&A East Storehouse, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
The East Bank Partners (BBC, UCL, V&A, Sadler’s Wells and University of the Arts London) are bringing together a select group of education colleagues from across East London to explore how current developments, including curriculum review expectations, Ofsted changes, the White Paper setting out the government’s proposed reforms to post-16 technical education and training and the emerging National Centre for Music and Arts, may shape the future of teaching and learning in the region.
This half-day session will bring together school leaders, school improvement teams, music and cultural education services, and partners from across the East Bank to reflect, exchange insight, and identify shared priorities.
Together, we will:
- Consider new curriculum expectations and how they align with local priorities and realities
- Identify shared challenges and opportunities across Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest
- Explore how East Bank partners can meaningfully support schools and teachers
- Discuss opportunities for collaboration, enrichment, and professional development
This roundtable is designed as a space for strategic discussion, networking, and shaping future partnership activity.
This is a closed, invitation-only event
------------------------------------
is a cross-organisational effort between the world-leading East Bank partners: BBC, UCL, UAL's London College of Fashion, V&A and Sadler's Wells. The programme also features collaborations from other incredible local partners.
Together, we link local young people and educators to the exciting institutions, universities and sectors unique to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, offering access to programmes exploring creative, digital, design and careers. We aim to provide educators with professional development opportunities as well as provide a space for wider discussions around careers, wellbeing and work culture.
We are delighted that UCL and London College of Fashion are now open on the Park and they will soon be followed by Sadler's Wells, V&A, BBC joining in following months and years.
