EARTH WISDOM
First Nations Spirituality, Land and Living in Balance
Presented by Aski Balance Holistic Wellness in partnership with Unified Health Systems
Four Sundays. Four meaningful conversations. An opportunity to learn, reflect, connect, and experience Indigenous knowledge in a welcoming environment.
Have you ever wanted to learn more about First Nations spirituality, traditional teachings, ceremonies, or our deep connection to the land?
Have you ever wondered what life was like for First Nations peoples before European contact, how colonization changed our communities, or how our traditions continue to live on today?
Perhaps you're Indigenous and looking to reconnect with your culture, or maybe you're simply curious and want to develop a deeper understanding of First Nations history, spirituality, and ways of knowing.
Whatever brings you here, I would love to welcome you to Earth Wisdom.
ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR
My name is Audra, and I am a Cree woman from Kahkewistahaw First Nation, an Indigenous Studies graduate, and the founder of Aski Balance Holistic Wellness.
My work brings together education, Indigenous perspectives, spirituality, holistic wellness, and the importance of meaningful human connection.
I believe learning should be more than sitting in a classroom and listening to someone speak. It should create opportunities to ask questions, share stories, reflect, and build understanding.
That is exactly what I hope to create through Earth Wisdom.
WHAT IS EARTH WISDOM?
Earth Wisdom is a four week educational experience exploring Plains Cree spirituality, Indigenous history, traditional ways of knowing, cultural resilience, and our relationship with the natural world.
Throughout our time together, we'll explore how First Nations peoples lived before European contact, the changes brought by colonization, the importance of treaties, and the ways Indigenous communities continue to protect, reclaim, and celebrate their identities.
We'll also explore the relationship between spirituality, balance, community, and the land.
This experience is designed to encourage respectful conversations, curiosity, reflection, and meaningful learning.
OUR FOUR WEEK JOURNEY
WEEK ONE: PRECONTACT PLAINS CREE WORLDVIEW AND SPIRITUALITY
We'll begin by exploring the spiritual foundations and traditional ways of knowing that guided Plains Cree life before European contact.
Topics include our relationship with Mother Earth, kinship, community responsibilities, ceremonies, oral traditions, and the importance of balance.
WEEK TWO: FIRST CONTACT, TREATIES AND EARLY COLONIAL RELATIONSHIPS
We'll explore the arrival of Europeans, the fur trade, treaty relationships, and the changes that began shaping Indigenous communities.
We'll discuss the meaning and importance of treaties and why understanding these relationships remains relevant today.
WEEK THREE: COLONIALISM, RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS AND RECONCILIATION
This week, we'll explore some of the difficult chapters of Canadian history, including colonial policies, residential schools, cultural disruption, and intergenerational impacts.
We'll also recognize Indigenous resilience, survival, and the ongoing work of healing, cultural revitalization, and reconciliation.
WEEK FOUR: CONTEMPORARY FIRST NATIONS IDENTITY AND CULTURAL RESILIENCE
Our final week brings our learning into the present.
We'll explore contemporary Indigenous identity, cultural revitalization, self determination, and the importance of carrying traditional knowledge into future generations.
We'll reflect on what we've learned and how we can move forward with greater understanding and respect.
MORE THAN FOUR CLASSES
I want Earth Wisdom to be an experience that connects education with reflection, wellness, storytelling, and community.
Alongside our educational sessions, I'm also planning special guided meditation and sound bath experiences.
GUIDED MEDITATION AND REFLECTION
We'll explore opportunities for grounding, quiet reflection, and connecting with ourselves through guided meditation.
These practices are intended to create a peaceful space to reflect on our learning, become more present, and experience moments of stillness.
SOUND BATH HEALING
I'm also planning a special sound bath experience incorporating the calming sounds and vibrations of crystal singing bowls.
Sound baths offer an opportunity to rest, relax, and experience a moment of peace away from the busyness of everyday life.
I'm excited to bring elements of my holistic wellness practice into the broader Earth Wisdom experience.
Additional details about these experiences will be shared as plans are finalized.
THE IN PERSON EXPERIENCE
There is something special about gathering together to share knowledge, stories, laughter, and food.
For those attending in person, I'm putting together a thoughtful welcome experience that I hope will make our time together even more meaningful.
Planned additions include a beautiful Earth Wisdom swag bag, learning materials, reflection resources, and some special touches from Aski Balance.
I'll also be sharing something very close to my heart: my family's connection to bannock, the stories it carries, and its place in gathering and community.
Participants will receive my vegan bannock recipes and access to cooking tutorials so they can bring a little piece of that experience into their own kitchens.
THE ZOOM EXPERIENCE
Not everyone can attend in person, and I want to make sure those joining us online have an engaging and meaningful learning experience too.
Zoom participants will be able to join our live teachings, participate in discussions, ask questions, and explore the course materials from the comfort of their own homes.
Digital learning resources and bannock recipes will also be available.
30 DAYS OF CONTINUED LIVE ZOOM SUPPORT
One of the things I'm especially excited to offer is continued access to me after our four classes have finished.
All participants will receive 30 days of live Zoom support following completion of Earth Wisdom.
This provides additional opportunities to ask questions, discuss teachings, explore reflections, and continue conversations that may arise after the classes.
Because sometimes our most meaningful questions come after we've had time to sit with what we've learned.
WHO IS EARTH WISDOM FOR?
Earth Wisdom welcomes Indigenous and non Indigenous participants who are interested in learning more about First Nations history, spirituality, culture, and perspectives.
Whether you're looking to reconnect with your heritage, deepen your understanding, or learn something entirely new, you are welcome.
No previous knowledge is required.
All I ask is that you bring curiosity, respect, and an open mind.

WHY I CREATED EARTH WISDOM
I believe there is so much value in taking the time to learn about one another, to understand where we come from, and to recognize the importance of the knowledge carried through generations.
As a Cree woman, sharing these perspectives is something that means a great deal to me.
My hope is that you leave Earth Wisdom not only with new knowledge, but also with meaningful questions, a deeper appreciation for Indigenous perspectives, and a greater understanding of the connections between history, spirituality, land, and community.
I want this to be a place where learning feels welcoming, conversations feel meaningful, and everyone has an opportunity to grow.
I would absolutely love to have you join me this November.
Come with your questions, your curiosity, and an open mind.
Let's learn, reflect, and connect together.
With love and gratitude,
Audra
