Earth & Ether brings together five artists whose practices are deeply connected to the natural world and the unseen forces that move through it.
Earth, water, fire, air and ether find expression through painting, sculpture, ceramics, weaving and felting — each artist responding through their own relationship with material, landscape, movement and instinct.
At the heart of the exhibition is also the idea of art as connection and ceremony. The act of making with our hands, working with the elements, gathering from the land, observing its rhythms and transforming one thing into another are practices that have connected us to place, to one another and to something beyond ourselves for thousands of years.
