A night of comedic hilarity at the vibrant Palladium Club in North Devon.
For this early festive show, you have your regular MC Nik Coppin and established comedians Michael Fabbri, LJ DA FUNK and newer acts in support, James Banyard and Jack Johns.
The show is completely free to get in with voluntary Christmassy donations after the show to help cover costs and expenses, and maybe help the acts to buy pressies for their loved ones.
Michael Fabbri
A regular face on the UK comedy circuit for twenty years. Michael Fabbri has been a stand-up since 2003 and regularly performs in comedy clubs throughout the UK and all over the world.
He has worked as a writer for Radio and TV and had his own stand-up series: ‘Dyslexicon’ on BBC Radio 4. He has done several solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and worked as a support act for Micky Flanagan, Lucy Porter, and Angela Barnes.
LJ DA FUNK
LJ DA FUNK is the alter ego of British comedian Zak Splijt who burst onto the scene after becoming a finalist in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year in 2013 and winning Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year in 2015.
His character is a high‑energy “New York gangster” who delivers seemingly foolish but cleverly comic takes on politics, sexuality, and life’s absurdities.
Nik Coppin (MC)
Nik Coppin has performed all over the world and developed an international following.
Born and bred in London and now based on the south coast of England in the city of Brighton he has spent over 20 years becoming a global circuit comedian. In that time he has performed all over the UK and in many European countries such as Germany, Spain, Ireland, Hungary, Poland, France, Denmark and Norway. He has also done shows in the USA, Canada and frequents Southeast Asia, regularly touring in Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, The Philippines and Japan.
He has also toured multiple solo shows at the Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe Festivals, New Zealand and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, all over Australia and the inaugural Hollywood Fringe Festival in Los Angeles, all to critical acclaim.
His confident, amiable and energetic style of comedy is quick to build rapport, as he talks about subjects as wide-ranging as human nature, his experiences in The Antipodes, Europe and Asia, his knowledge of wildlife, superheroes, current affairs and his mixed-race upbringing in North West London. His mother is English and his father is from the Caribbean island of Barbados.
As well as becoming one of the most professional acts on the comedy circuit, his versatility has also made him a much sought after compere. He has the ability to adapt to a multitude of audiences and is skilful, observant and affable enough to immediately put them at ease.
Amazingly funny stories, wickedly clever insights and a sense of fun that will drag anyone in. Super funny, super fun and charisma up the wazoo, Nik's awesome! ★★★★ 1/2 - Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2009
"A rapid fire non-stop act full of energy. His hour went so quick, his charming smile and easy manner had the audience eating out of his hand and wanting more. Go and see him" ★★★★ 1/2 - Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2006
"Fast and funny...The audience loved it...Sweetly, wildly hilarious" ★★★★ - Rip It Up, Adelaide Fringe
James Banyard
James Banyard is a fully qualified stand up comedian. His work has been compared to the everyday surrealism of Paul Foot. Expect jokes about AI, bug hotels, and novel treatments for brain inflammation. "Dry, witty, earthy and clever." Audience member Bootlegger, Exeter.
Jack Johns
A relatively newcomer to the comedy scene, Jack brings his unusual style, a few props and maybe some unexpected moments.
