Participants will discover Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) traditions by sculpting, painting, and decorating their own paper mache creations during the ofrenda making workshop. We will use recycled materials and learn more about this celebration from Mexican-American fiber artist Marina G. Cano.
Students are invited to bring any craft materials they may have at home and photos of past loved ones. Consider use of the multiple, such as tooth picks or googly eyes.
Prerequisites:
- This class is open to total beginners.
- Minimum age: 14 years.
