Join the City of Yelm Parks and Recreation for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a meaningful celebration honoring the lives, memories, and legacies of loved ones who have passed.Visit our community ofrenda (altar) on the Yelm Centennial Stage, opening November 1 at 2 p.m. Community members are invited to bring a photo, small memento, or other meaningful item to add to the ofrenda in honor of someone special*. Together, we can create a shared space filled with memories, love, and connection. Take a moment to reflect, remember, and celebrate the people who continue to hold a special place in our hearts. Learn about the traditions and symbolism of this beautiful cultural celebration, where memories bring generations together.
The afternoon will feature flower crown making from 4–5 p.m., followed by live classical Hispanic music from 5–6 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of culture, creativity, music, and remembrance as we celebrate the love and connections that keep our loved ones’ memories alive.
The community ofrenda will remain on display at the Yelm Centennial Stage until 4 p.m. on November 2, providing an opportunity to visit, reflect, and honor those who are no longer with us.

*The display will not be in a secure location and the City of Yelm is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please do not leave valuable or sentimental items. If you would like to keep the items you contribute, please be sure to pick them up by 4 pm on November 2nd. Items left after 4 p.m. may not be available for return.
