THE DURANGO ROUND DANCE & NATIVE ARTS MARKET IS BACK — WITH A NEW LOCATION!Durango Native American Heritage Month tradition is returning! This year, the Durango Round Dance & Native Arts Market is moving to the La Plata County Fairgrounds to accommodate our growing community.
Following last year’s incredible turnout, the DSD Native American Education Program, Durango Indigenous Kinship Initiative, Visit Durango Ambassador Kristean Velasquez, and Southern Ute Community Organizer Elise Redd have come together to support the continued growth and future of this special community gathering.
Traditionally held during the colder autumn and winter months, Round Dances create space for social connection, community building, and cultural sharing. Here in Durango, this tradition has become a meaningful part of Native American Heritage Month, bringing together Indigenous families, college students, and our broader non-Indigenous community.
Join us as we gather to share a meal, celebrate Indigenous cultures, strengthen relationships, and build community through connection and tradition.
Everyone is welcome. Come share in the culture, arts and community.
