A new Charlotte holiday tradition begins. This holiday season, experience Duke Ellingtons groundbreaking reimagining of The Nutcracker Suite performed live at the historic Carolina Theatre. Blending the timeless melodies of Tchaikovsky with the unmistakable brilliance, swing, and sophistication of American jazz, Ellingtons celebrated suite comes to life through a powerhouse jazz orchestra led by The Blackhawk Quintet. TiMar Entertainment proudly presents the beginning of what we hope will become one of Charlottes signature holiday traditions. The evening will feature acclaimed vocalist Dawn Anthony alongside an exceptional ensemble of Charlotte musicians, including Braxton Bateman, Harvey Cummings, Phillip Howe, Tim Scott, Jr. and Tyrone Jefferson, plus additional special guests. Together, they bring generations of Charlotte jazz, soul, and musical excellence to the stage for a one night only celebration of Duke Ellingtons enduring legacy.
