What started out as a quaint gathering berthed the summer of 2018 in Dublin’s Historic Stubbs Park, has grown into the annual festival that celebrates and gives reverence to those who’ve paid freedom forward for all. This year’s theme for our 7th Annual Juneteenth festivities is “Freedom: The Marathon Continues”
The late Nipsey Hussle’s brand “The Marathon Continues” signifies a resilient, long term mindset focused on persistence & self-belief. Juneteenth reminds us that liberation did not arrive all at once, nor did equality follow automatically. It has been a marathon. Freedom must be protected, expanded, and passed on. It’s not a finish line; it’s a responsibility. Juneteenth honors ancestors who pushed freedom forward without seeing its full fruits. Hence this year’s theme.
If you didn't know, Juneteenth is the best-known and one of the oldest American holidays that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States; it commemorates the date June 19, 1865, when the last African American slaves held in Confederate states were freed and has been observed since June 19, 1866.
You can scan the QR code in the flyer above (& we’ll also add the website link below) to register for the parade, as a vendor, to perform during the festival, and more.
The deadline for registration will be June 14, 2026.
In times like these, as we’re still striving for reparations, human rights, and equality, it is imperative that we come together & celebrate that which is ours: Our History!
The Marathon MUST Continue….
