Fibrous is a juried exhibition of paper and textile artworks from across the country. What do paper and textiles have in common? FIBERS! Although similar, the processes of creating both paper and textiles are very different - pulp and various fibers are pressed into sheets to create different paper types, while textiles are created by weaving or knitting the fibers together to create a flexible and durable finished product. This exhibition showcases the unique properties and artistic creations that can be derived from these two fiber mediums.
The open call for Fibrous 2026 received 334 submissions from 97 artists from 32 states. Just 67 works from 57 artists and 27 states were selected for this exhibit.
