About this Event

In Good Company Presents:
DTLA's Best New DJ Competition

Twelve DJs will battle across four Thursday night showcases for a spot in the October 1 championship round to be crowned “DTLA’s Best New DJ”

The Association is hosting a month-long DJ competition series running every Thursday in September 2026, with weekly winners advancing to a live final on October 1, 2026.

Each Thursday — September 3, 10, 17, and 24 — three DJs will go head-to-head in 30-minute open-format sets, performing between 10pm and 12am midnight. One winner will be selected per week and announced that same night, advancing to the final showdown at The Association on October 1, 2026, at 10pm. The final will be held in conjunction with Happening in DTLA and DTLA ArtNight and supported by the Latin District and Historic Core BID.

🗓️ 9/3 — Erika McK (@euphorika__) • Jeri Rebollar (@zero.dead.space) • Zama Dube (@zamadube)
🗓️ 9/10 — Antwon Russell (@imantwonrussell) • Zian Azadi (@zianazadi) • Michael Keller (@bilailabilailabilaila)
🗓️ 9/17 — Ben Snyder (@itsben_the_dj) • Derek Keith (@derekkeith88888) • Mwendwa Rwakatare (@hollow.bonez)
🗓️ 9/24 — John Drumright (@djdrumright) • Shaniece Blackledge (@ohgnova) • Brayan Rojas (@djbryy)

Winners are determined entirely by the crowd. Votes are cast in person, in writing, by guests at the venue — there is no online or remote voting. The Association is encouraging each competing DJ to bring their own fans, friends, family, and industry peers to support them on the night.

The winner of the competition will receive $500 cash prize, a weekly, month-long, paid residency at The Association, online promotion and opportunities to spin at curated events for Happening In DTLA, DTLA ArtNight and Latin District events.

DJs interested in competing can sign up at https://forms.gle/1sMEFcZZUnozSWbF6 by selecting their preferred Thursday. Each date is limited to three slots and will close once filled.

"This series is about giving DTLA DJs a real stage and a real audience — not just a set, but a shot," said Farah Casis Bowers, Events & Marketing Director at The Association. "We wanted a format where the crowd decides who moves forward, because that's who they're really performing for."
