You don't need prior knowledge of the topic, however we love having a mixture of people with different experiences. Discussing and sharing anything relevant is welcomed throughout the session.
- Drug knowledge: Build understanding of different types of drugs, how they are classified based on their effects (e.g. stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens), and their legal status.
- Identifying use and risk: Recognise common signs and symptoms of drug use and develop confidence in assessing potential risks.
- Local drug trends: Gain an overview of current drug markets, including trends and commonly used substances specifically within West Northamptonshire.
- Harm reduction and support: Develop skills in delivering harm-reduction-focused support and know where to access relevant resources for help and guidance.
- Health impacts: Learn about both the physical and mental health effects associated with different substances.
