Discover how an ordinary beach pebble can begin its transformation into a usable jewelry component. In our Drilling Stones class, you’ll learn how to drill a beach pebble while exploring two important parts of the process: determining which stones can be drilled and understanding which types of drill bits are used for them.
Not every stone is approached in the same way. This class gives you an opportunity to look beyond the drilling itself and begin making more informed choices about the stones and tools involved.
You’ll leave with a drilled beach pebble and practical guidance you can apply when exploring other stones for future jewelry projects.
This class is especially suited to beginners and makers curious about working with found stones.
Your instructor, Kim St. Jean, is Tucson Jewelry School’s resident artist and has more than 25 years of jewelry-making teaching experience.
The class takes place in person at Tucson Jewelry School.
