This past year Drew “Junior” Davis, beloved friend, partner, father, Gramps, and musician, was diagnosed with ALS.ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis -- also known as Lou Gehrig's disease-- is a fatal disease which progresses from causing muscle weakness to ultimately stopping the nerves from controlling muscles—resulting in Drew progressively losing the ability to walk, talk, eat, and breathe.
Despite his valiant spirit to fight hard and maintain positivity, this disease has stricken Drew hard and rapidly. Over the course of months, he's lost the ability to do the things he loves most… play guitar and harmonica, eat, and travel to spend time with friends and family.
Everyday basic functions such as talking, personal hygiene, eating, and mobility are now limited if not impossible without assistance. Drew’s need for a home health aide is now dire. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the cost of home health care, and the estimated annual cost is $76K.
