About this Event
I’m Bethany, an artist and art teacher who has been working at a fine art school on the Sunny Coast for the past three years. I recently moved to Melbourne and am excited to be running the first of what I hope will be many drawing workshops at The Mezzanine.
Drawing in Charcoal: Light, Shadow & Form is a four-hour, beginner-friendly charcoal workshop exploring how to build a drawing from scratch using light, shadow, tone and expressive mark-making.
We’ll begin with a series of quick studies to loosen up and get familiar with the medium, before working step by step through a more resolved charcoal drawing from photographic reference.
I’ll demonstrate the process as we go, with plenty of individual guidance throughout the workshop.
No previous drawing or charcoal experience is required
