Christy Gove, author of , will be visiting Virginia October 15–17 for a three-day book tour.
Based on the true stories of patients at the Wildlife Center, Dr. Karra to the Rescue! follows the Center’s Veterinary Director, Dr. Karra Pierce, through a busy day caring for injured and orphaned wildlife. This book is a great way for young readers to learn about wildlife medicine, and discover what it takes to help wild animals return to their natural habitats.
This is Christy’s fourth book created in conjunction with the Wildlife Center. Her previous books feature the true stories of animals cared for at the Center, including Greta the Great Horned Owl, Maggie the One-Eyed Peregrine Falcon, and Bailey the Bear Needs Help.
Christy, Dr. Karra, and the Center’s animal ambassadors will be traveling to several locations throughout the Shenandoah Valley and Charlottesville during this three-day tour! Each stop will include a live reading, book signings, and opportunities to meet two of the Center’s animal ambassadors.
