Title: Nephrology update and surviving winter pressures
Biography: "My name is Asheesh Sharma, though many call me Ash, and I’m a consultant nephrologist based in Liverpool. My journey into nephrology began during my time as a medical student, when I was fortunate to complete a short placement on the kidney unit. The experience was transformative. I worked alongside an incredible team of doctors and nurses whose passion and skill captivated me.
I went on to do further training as a junior doctor in the same Liverpool kidney unit, and by that point, I was hooked. That was back in 2000. From 2003 to 2011, I trained as a registrar here, and I’ve now been a consultant for 13 to 14 years..."
