This month, we’re going behind the mural! 🎨Join us for our October Downtown Worcester Community Meeting on Friday, October 9, from 9 to 10 am at the YWCA of Central Massachusetts (1 Salem Square).
We’ll start the morning in the YWCA Board Room, where CEO Deb Hall will share a bit about the YWCA’s work and mission in our community and introduce us to its new "Worcester Wall of Women."
Created by local artists Sharinna Travieso and Jennessa Burks, the mural brings the stories and faces of Worcester women to Francis J. McGrath Boulevard. Sharinna will join us to share more about the project, the process of bringing it to life, and the significance of adding this new work of public art to Worcester’s landscape.
Then, we’ll take a short walk around the corner to see the finished mural together!
It’s a chance to get to know an important Downtown organization, meet one of the artists behind a new piece of Worcester public art, learn something about Downtown you didn’t know before, and make a connection or two along the way.
We want our Community Meetings to be useful to you, too. Looking for information, resources, or introduction? Want to meet more of the people who live, work, own businesses, and spend time Downtown? Come — and let us know! We want to help make those connections happen.
Whether you’ve been to every Downtown Worcester Community Meeting to date or you’ve never joined us before, this is your invitation.
Come explore. Meet someone new. Learn something new about Downtown. Bring a friend or colleague.
☕️ And, as always, complimentary breakfast and coffee are on us!
Downtown Worcester Community Meetings are free and open to everyone.
