Our tour will be led by Christina Haley, President and CEO of Wilmington Downtown Inc., who will share the stories, history and commercial real estate activity shaping one of Wilmington’s most recognizable corridors.
We’ll begin at Port City Java, 21-A N. Front Street, where attendees are encouraged to arrive EARLY to grab a coffee and connect with fellow CREW members. The walking tour will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. outside Port City Java, so please plan to arrive with enough time to place your coffee order before we head out.
From there, we’ll make our way north along Front Street before heading back south, stopping along the way to learn about notable buildings, past and present ownership, renovations, adaptive reuse and exciting plans for the future. Christina will share insights into upcoming businesses and tenants, future projects and the evolving role these historic properties play in downtown Wilmington.
Our tour will conclude at the Old Wilmington City Market at 120–124 S. Front Street, originally constructed in 1879. This historic building stretches from Front Street toward the Cape Fear River, with its western end extending to Water Street.
