Downsizers Connect is a new free monthly meetup for people in Victoria who are planning a downsize. Whether you are just getting started, well on your way or near the finish line, we hope you will join us to learn, share your experience and explore what your next chapter looks like.
Each month we gather at a different local retirement or independent living community. You’ll meet other downsizers, tour that month’s host community, hear from a guest speaker, and pick up practical tips to help you stay on track with your own plans.
This is our very first meetup, and we’re kicking it off at Victoria Harbour by Chartwell, right on Belleville Street by the Inner Harbour.
This month’s guest speaker is Nicole Ashley, founder of Granddaughter for Hire. She’ll walk through the scams that most often target seniors, by phone, email and in person, and share simple ways to recognize them and protect yourself.
Maybe you’d like to meet people who understand exactly what you’re going through. Maybe you want an easy way to see a retirement community without the pressure of a formal tour. Or maybe you just need a little accountability to keep moving forward. Either way, this meetup is for you.
