About this Event
Our intention for this gathering is to have a low-to-no cost skillshare where we co-create a space of reciprocity-in-practice. Our values include centering voices traditionally de-centered by patriarchy, listening to the Earth, nourishing one another, and creating an equitable space for people to explore their relationship to self, place, and community.
Truly a Divinely timed gathering, this is an inclusive, accessible alternative to get your fall earthskills gathering itch scratched - without the moral ambiguity. We originally planned to have this early October, but the grueling Asheville roomie search and ~”landlord” approval~ delayed our plans a bit. And we trust it's for the best! We're excited to gather with you under the colorful falling leaves and Taurus Full Moon.
Tickets for the event are free of monetary charge/by donation, and categorized by the needs of the gathering. Think rainbow-style gathering meets worktrade – we’re all here to give and receive and lean into what the balance looks like in action. We gratefully accept donations to cover costs of food, firewood, etc., with any profits after breaking even going to Bigwitch Indian Wisdom Initiative. Indigenous Relatives and People of the Global Majority are welcome to choose an Equity Ticket and receive the gathering without labor costs, as we recognize the disproportionate amount of labor and oppression inflicted to these folks, especially in this country.
***Get your ticket online and don't just show up, as we have to cap the event per request of the man we rent our house from*** Sadly, if you do not reserve a ticket and the event fills up, we may have to ask you to leave. :,(
The ticket for Saturday covers both days. Eventbrite doesn't let us do a two-day event. So all tickets for the weekend are found on the Saturday option. You do not have to come both days.
Support Roles Needed:
- Set up and breakdown (Friday afternoon and Monday morning)
- Kitchen Witchery (cooking and cleanup for prepared meals)
- Childcare / Care Team
- Registration & Parking/Shuttle
- Fire Tenders
- Water Gatherers (before/during event)
We anticipate each role requiring 3-5 hrs of labor to keep the gathering running smoothly. If you see a need and feel availble to support beyond this trade, please do!
