About this Event
Come bring a friend and be ready for a fun Pickleball Tournament in support of the Douglas College Softball Team! What better way to kick off the holiday season that to spend half a day enjoying some pickleball comradery with a friend. We've got 8 courts ready to host a half day of friendly competitive Round Robin Pickleball. This event is a fundraiser to offset transportation fees for team travel. The Douglas College Softball Team is the only Canadian Collegiate softball team that participates in the North West Athletic Conference (NWAC). Our home games are played at Softball City in Surrey and our away games are played against Community Colleges in Washington and Oregon. The team's season begins in March and runs through the middle of May with the team playing 40-50 games. This is a competitive collegiate team that allows local athletes to stay at home while experiencing collegiate athletics. The student athletes demonstrate: a strong work ethic; and time management skills, as they must maintain their academic eligibility, in order to participate in season. The student athletes balance 5 practices per week, a fulltime academic course load and many of the student athletes have part time jobs. Come out and support a great cause and have a fun half day of pickleball with a friend!
