Bring what you don't wear. Leave with something you'll love.
Doncaster Wardrobe Rescue is a free community clothes swap, and this one opens Sustainable Fashion Week as the Official Doncaster Hub.
Swap a jumper for a jacket, a shirt for a skirt. No money changes hands. Just good clothes finding new people instead of landfill.
A place to sit, swap and talk
This is the first of our Swap, Mend and Connect sessions, shaped by what people told us they wanted: more time, more seating and more help with mending.
So come and browse the rails. Then sit down with a cup of tea, get a button sewn back on, and stay as long as you like. There's no rush and nothing to spend.
How it works
Bring clean, wearable clothes, bags or accessories. You'll get one swap ticket for each item you bring in. One ticket gets you one item.
Everyone gets one ticket on arrival, whether you've brought something or not.
We're a small community swap and the rails are only as full as what people bring, so the ticket system keeps things fair and makes sure there's something left for whoever walks in at half past twelve.
If you're not able to bring anything this time, come and find us. We'll always sort you out.
Drop your items in from 9.30am so the rails are full when browsing starts at 10am.

Denim upcycling with Sewn by Sadie Bee.
A mending and sewing table with Alison Greer of The Love & Stitches Studio, where you can learn simple repairs that keep clothes going for years. Bring something that needs a hem, a button or a small fix.
Refreshments, and plenty of seating.
And we'll introduce you to Closet Remix, a free app built here in Doncaster that helps you build outfits from the clothes already in your wardrobe. The swap is a good start. Making more of what you already own is where the real change happens.

Finding us
Doncaster Unitarian & Free Christian Church, 60 Hall Gate, DN1 3PB. Step-free entry, seating throughout and an accessible toilet. A few minutes' walk from the Frenchgate interchange.
Carers and companions are very welcome. If it's easier to come with someone, bring them.
Nothing goes to waste
Anything not swapped is sorted and passed to local charities including Phoenix and The Clothing Bank, so it reaches people who need it. Items beyond wear go for textile recycling.
