MIX LIKE A MUSICIANStop just playing songs. Start shaping a set.
Mix Like A Musician is a small, hands-on DJ workshop led by Chrystalline Gold at Grand Central Music Rentals in St. Petersburg.
This is about learning how to hear music differently — how to recognize phrasing, control energy, move between songs with intention, and build a set that feels like it actually belongs to you.
Chrystalline brings years of experience reading rooms, blending genres, and building momentum without losing the character of the music. The workshop takes that same approach and breaks it down in a way that’s practical, relaxed, and easy to apply.
TRANSITION
Learn to hear the structure of a song, recognize the right moment to move, and create cleaner transitions that keep the room with you.
SCRATCH
Get comfortable on the decks and learn foundational scratch techniques without the pressure to perform or already know what you’re doing.
DEVELOP YOUR SOUND
Work through song selection, genre, pacing, energy, and personal taste to start understanding what makes your sets feel distinct.
---
This is a safe, welcoming space for all — especially anyone who has ever felt like DJ culture was too intimidating, too technical, too cliquey, or simply not built with them in mind.
No ego. No posturing. No pressure to prove yourself.
Just professional equipment, real instruction, a small group, and time to actually mix.
Whether you’re touching DJ equipment for the first time, getting back behind the decks, or already mixing and want to tighten your fundamentals, you’ll leave with stronger technique, a better ear, and a clearer sense of how to approach a set.
