Whether your project requires basic machine stitching, a trusty hot glue gun, strategic safety pinning, or clever fabric layering, this class is your ultimate creative safe space.
No judgment, no intimidating couture techniques—just pure, collaborative problem-solving to help you cross the finish line before October 31st!
We will provide sewing machines, heavy-duty hot glue stations, fabric scissors, measuring tapes, and fabric glue.
What We’ll Help You With:
✂️Piecing it together: Figure out the best assembly order so you don’t accidentally sew your sleeves shut.
🧵Choosing your weapon: Decide when to sew for durability and when to glue for speed.
🎩Thrift-store hacking: Learn how to deconstruct and embellish pre-made garments to build a base.
🪄No-sew workarounds: Master the magic of fusible web, fabric glue, and Velcro for quick fixes.
💡Troubleshooting: Get expert guidance on stubborn collars, capes, and costume accessories.
What to Bring:
Please bring your costume concept (sketches or reference photos are highly encouraged!), along with anything you might use such as your base fabrics or thrifted clothing garments, as well as any specific trims, buttons, or props. You’ll be able to shop through our amazing selection and purchase any additional materials needed to complete your costume.
Prerequisite: A tiny bit of comfort with a sewing machine or basic hand-stitching is helpful, but zero costume-making experience is required. Ambition is welcome, but simple designs are highly encouraged! Come ready to cut, stick, stitch, and create.
