About this Event
Join Assemblymembers Ash Kalra and Dr. Darshana Patel for Diwali at the Capitol, a celebration of Diwali and its enduring message of light, unity, and hope!
In 2025, the California Legislature recognized Diwali as an official state holiday through AB 268. This year, we’re bringing communities together at the Capitol for a historic celebration of the Festival of Lights and its message of goodness, knowledge, truth, and renewal.
Enjoy a free community celebration featuring cultural performances and activities, a ceremonial diya lighting, Indian snacks, and more. Together, we’ll honor the traditions, cultural contributions, and the diversity of California.
