About this Event

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in partnership with Eisenberg & Baum, LLP, join us for Diversability Unplugged: Disability and Employment Rights, a discussion that delves into the intersection of employment law, disability rights, and advancing disability justice. We'll be hosting this event a few days after the 13th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).

Speakers include:

  1. Lucy Trieshmann (they/she)`, Associate Attorney, Eisenberg & Baum, LLP
  2. Reyna Lubin (she/her), Partner, Eisenberg & Baum, LLP
  3. Emma Farley (she/her), Disability S tudies scholar, activist & entrepreneur

This will be a hybrid event. If you are in New York City, please join us in person from 6-8pm ET, and we will be live-streaming the moderated conversation and Q&A from 6:30-7:30pm ET.

Meet Our Speakers
Lucy Trieshmann, they/she

Associate Attorney, Eisenberg & Baum, LLP

Lucy Trieshmann (they/she) is a multiply and dynamically disabled speaker, disability justice educator, and attorney. They currently work in the deaf and disability discrimination practice at Eisenberg & Baum, LLP, seeking justice for disabled clients through legal advocacy. Lucy is also a disability justice educator, providing workshops and presentations on incorporating disability justice principles into everyday practice. They are also Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for the National Harm Reduction Coalition and Treasurer of the National Disabled Legal Professionals Association.

Reyna Lubin, she/her

Partner, Eisenberg & Baum, LLP

Reyna Lubin is Partner and the Director of the Employment Discrimination Department at Eisenberg & Baum, LLP. She is a highly sought after trial attorney and has successfully tried a broad range of discrimination matters throughout the nation’s state and federal courts. She recently won two federal jury trials in which she advocated for her clients' rights under federal anti-discrimination statutes. Reyna has successfully obtained multiple six-figure settlements for her clients who have been subjected to disability discrimination, sexual harassment, unlawful discrimination, retaliation, and termination by their employers. Additionally, Reyna has successfully obtained reversals in appellate courts. Previously, Reyna was an Assistant District Attorney at Kings County District Attorney’s Office. At the D.A.’s office, Reyna handled felony criminal cases involving intimate partner violence. She was selected to the New York Metro Super Lawyers Rising Stars List, 2023.

Emma Farley, she/her

Disability Studies scholar, activist & entrepreneur

Emma Farley is a Disability Studies scholar, activist, and entrepreneur based in Brooklyn, New York. Emma has been disabled her entire life with both visible and invisible disabilities, including a rare form of muscular dystrophy, ADHD, and dyscalculia. She has been a dynamic voice in the disability community since her early years, utilizing her gift of storytelling to advocate and educate through public speaking. An active member of the Diversability Leadership Collective, Emma regularly leads engaging discussions that shed light on diverse disability experiences. In Spring 2024, Emma will merge her passion for storytelling and activism with the launch of Unsilent: Disability On Our Terms, a podcast that highlights the nuanced narratives of the disability community. Her dedication to intersectional activism and storytelling is not only a form of advocacy, but a powerful force for fostering understanding an inclusivity.
