Harvey V. Fineberg, MD, PhD, is professor emeritus of Health Policy and Management at Harvard and serves as a vice president of the American Philosophical Society. He previously served as president of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, president of the U.S. Institute of Medicine (now National Academy of Medicine), provost of Harvard University, and dean of the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. His research has focused on health policy, medical decision-making, global health, assessment of medical technology, health professional education, evaluation and use of vaccines, response to pandemics, and dissemination of medical innovations.
