DISCOVERIES Series V Showcases Future Stars Performing in Recital.
The DISCOVERIES Series continues to be widely acclaimed for the very high standard of the brilliant musicians taking part.
Since this series started, our performances have all been held at Leighton House, Kensington. For the first recital of the upcoming season we are honoured to have been invited to launch the new series at the National Liberal Club, 1 Whitehall Place, London SW1A 2HE on Monday 14 September. Further concerts in the 2026-27 series will take place at Leighton House Museum, 12 Holland Park Road, Kensington, London, W14 8LZ. Each recital is approximately one hour’s duration without an interval, starting at 7.00pm. Seating is unreserved.

Malaysian pianist Magdalene Ho was born in 2003 and started learning the piano at the age of four. In 2013, she began studying in the UK with Patsy Toh, at the Purcell
School. In 2015, she received the ABRSM Sheila Mossman Prize and Silver Award. As
part of a prize won at the PIANALE piano festival in Fulda, Germany, she released an
album of Bach and Messiaen works in 2019. She was a finalist at the Düsseldorf
Schumann Competition 2023 and was awarded the Joan Chissell Schumann Prize for
Piano at the Royal College of Music a few months later. In September 2023, she won
the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in Vevey along with receiving the
Audience Prize, Young Critics’ Prize and Children’s Corner Prize.
Magdalene has been studying with Dmitri Alexeev at the RCM since September
2022, where she is a Dasha Shenkman Scholar supported by the Gordon Calway Stone Scholarship. She is also sponsored by the Weir Award via the Keyboard Charitable Trust.
Firoze Madon is an award-winning British concert pianist regarded as one of the
most promising talents of his generation. He performs solo recitals, concerti and
chamber music in renowned concert halls including Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall and
the Southbank Centre. In 2026, he won First Prizes at the Globe International Piano
Competition and the Royal College of Music’s Concerto Competition, following
national recognition as a Keyboard Category Finalist in BBC Young Musician 2022.
Praised for his refined sound, musical depth and poetic expression, Firoze’s performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3. He currently studies with Professor Dmitri
Alexeev at the Royal College of Music as a Kendall Taylor Scholar.
