About this Event
Discover the beauty of fabric art without a single stitch in this engaging Kinusaiga workshop. Originating in Japan, Kinusaiga is a unique craft that transforms small pieces of fabric into intricate, quilt-like images—no sewing required. Instead, participants learn how to carefully tuck fabric into pre-cut grooves on a base, creating stunning designs with texture, depth, and vibrant color.
In this hands-on session, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the Kinusaiga process, from selecting fabrics and understanding composition to mastering the technique of fabric placement. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter looking to try something new, this workshop offers a relaxing and rewarding creative experience.
All materials are provided, and by the end of the workshop, you’ll take home your own finished 3 dimensional Kinusaiga artwork—perfect for display or as a thoughtful handmade gift. Join us and explore a mindful, artistic tradition that blends patience, creativity, and craftsmanship.
We'll be working with 3D spheres in class but will discuss how to work flat & the type of base you'll need if you want to continue your craft at home.
