About this Event
Come join the Toronto Alternative Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Artistic Director Lauren Yeomans as we celebrate PRIDE MONTH with an exploration of LGBTQ+ composers throughout history both in and out of the closet! Discover the provocative worlds of these groundbreaking queer artists as our host, gadabout Carl Jackson, sends you on an adventure of subterfuge and mirth! Bring out your flashiest rainbows, pencil in that flapper moustache or don your clutchiest pearls for a night you won't want to miss!
This fun and informal concert will run around 2 hours with two breaks so you can grab a drink and make friends in between sets
The programme includes:
- Francis Poulenc - Mouvements Perpétuels, FP 14b
- Benjamin Britten - Sinfonietta, Op. 1
- Marion Bauer - Concertino for Oboe, Clarinet and String Quartet, Op. 32b (conducted by guest assistant conductor Missy Thomas)
- Franz Schubert - Ganymed, D 544 (with a special appearance by Christopher Dunham, Baritone)
- Franz Schubert - Octet in F major, D 803
Tickets are $40 for adults and $30 for under 30 and artsworkers* available at the door or for purchase in advance here!
*NB: Every dollar of ticket sales goes directly towards our operating costs including venue and musician fees. That said, TACO strongly believes that finances should not be a barrier to accessing the arts. If you would like to come to this concert but are unable to pay the full ticket price, or if you are interested in paying for someone to attend this concert who may otherwise not be able to do so, please email us at [email protected].
