Discover how separate links become a handmade chain while learning one of jewelry making’s most useful foundational techniques. In our Discover Soldering - Make Your Own Chain class, you’ll learn the basics of soldering through a project that gives you plenty of hands-on practice. As you solder each link, you’ll repeat the same essential connection while watching your first handmade chain gradually come together.
That repetition makes the chain more than a finished project. It also gives you a practical way to become more comfortable with the soldering process and begin building skills you can use in future jewelry designs.
This is a beginner-level class for students who are curious about using a torch and learning how soldered jewelry is constructed.
Your instructor, Kim St. Jean, is Tucson Jewelry School’s resident artist and has more than 25 years of jewelry-making teaching experience.
The class takes place in person at Tucson Jewelry School.
