About this Event
Parallel Play by Discipline x Freewill is a low-pressure creative wellness space designed for adults to move, create, reflect, and unwind at their own pace.
Join us on June 14th 2026 for Parallel Play: Art After Asana - a gentle yoga session followed by a relaxed space for open art-making, reflection, conversation, and unwinding alongside others.
BYOA - Bring Your Own Art
Art in whatever form you create it: sketch, paint, journal, crochet, collage, write, or work on your own creative practice. (Yes, even the art of yapping counts.)
This is not an art class, and there is no pressure to perform or create in any particular way.
Parallel Play is designed as a calm, welcoming environment where you can simply exist. Inspired by the idea of “parallel play” - being alongside others without pressure or expectation (body doubling? maybe?). This event is especially suited to those seeking softer social spaces, creative rest, mindful movement, and a slower pace.
This is a neurodivergent-friendly, low-pressure space where you can engage as much or as little as feels right for you.
Bring your own art - creative materials or project, whether that’s:
✨ a journal
✨ sketchbook
✨ knitting or crochet
✨ collage materials
✨ colouring books
✨ writing projects
✨ or any creative practice you’d like to explore
A selection of art materials will also be available - paint by numbers, paint, paper etc. and of course tea and snacks!
The evening includes:
✨ Gentle yoga and movement - no experience needed, all levels welcome
✨ Open creative space - bring your own art materials, journal, or creative project
✨ Space to socialise, reflect, and unwind at your own pace
✨ Soft music and a relaxed atmosphere designed for rest, creativity, and connection
Optional creative prompts and gentle connection activities will be available throughout the evening for those who’d like to participate.
