A daylong retreat for laypersons to explore God’s call & practice discernment for lay ministries in the Episcopal Church in Western Oregon.About this Event
The Commission on Ministry invites laypersons from across the Diocese for a daylong Discernment Is for Everyone! retreat at St. Matthew's, Eugene. Discernment Is for Everyone! is a curriculum developed by the Commission on Ministry and the Diocesan Support Center and designed to support and encourage faithful listening to God’s call in your life.
You can expect:
- A space to discern alongside others what lay ministry or ministries you are called to in our Church,
- To learn about how to practice discernment as a regular part of your spiritual practice,
- To learn more about licensed lay ministries in our Church,
- Shared resources that may be used to practice ongoing discernment individually and as a community.
This retreat will be facilitated by members of the Commission on Ministry and the Canon for Lifelong Formation.
Cost: $12 (to help cover food). Coffee, tea, and lunch will be provided, with dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan options.
