The Diploma in Music Production and Sound Recording is an in-person, hands-on course for people looking to develop their music production skills or progress to higher-level study.
Course details
- Length: 20 weeks
- Starts: Monday 16 November 2026
- Schedule: Mondays and Tuesdays, 9am–3.30pm
- Qualification: A Level 2 qualification, offered in partnership with City of Westminster College, part of United Colleges Group. Students will be enrolled with the group at the start of the course.
What you’ll study
Explore music production for performance, games music or media, across genres including indie, urban, rock and EDM. The fast-track course combines training in Logic Pro and Pro Tools with audio engineering, mixing and sound design using a full range of Solid State Logic consoles.
Who can apply
- GCSE English Language at Grade 3 (D in the old system), IELTS Academic 5.5, CEFRL B2 or equivalent experience. Refer to the Terms and Conditions for guidance on language requirements.
- GCSE Maths at Grade 3 (D in the old system) or equivalent.
- You must be at least 19 by 31 August before the course starts.
Experience and student support
Islington Music Workshop has 40 years’ experience working with musicians and producers to help them achieve their production goals. The diploma can support a start in the music industry or progression to a higher-level HE course. As a registered student, you can access college facilities and benefit from the college’s policies and procedures for supporting your studies.
