Doors open at 7:30 for dinner and John Hewitt and his trio take the stage at 8:30, so come early, grab a table, eat, and settle in before the music starts. The Getaway is the most intimate and best sounding venue in Winnipeg, every seat is close to the stage and we've put a lot of work into the room and the sound, so you're going to hear the harmonies and the guitars the way the band is actually playing them.
Dinner is from the Royal Getaway menu, and I'll just say it, it's really the best food you can get at an entertainment venue, the kind of food you'd come out for even if there wasn't a band playing. Food is ordered and paid for separately at the venue.
John Hewitt is one of Alberta's most prolific artists and he's celebrating his 10th album this fall with a 60 date North American tour. It's Folk/Americana at its best, a trio with intertwining guitars, melodic hooks and harmonies that really lock in, and poetic lyrics with songs as memorable as the songwriter hits of the 60's and 70's.
