About this Event
Our second May Dinner Social is set—and this time, we’re diving into dim sum at one of Berlin’s go-to hotspots: Bao Gao Club 包餃會🥟! (They are vegan friendly too!)
We’ll gather a table of 30 guests, share rounds of dishes, try a bit of everything, and spend the evening the way dim sum is meant to be—communal, playful, and full of conversation.
🥟 A spread of dim sum classics (Siu Mai / pork and shrimp dumplings; Har Gow / shrimp dumplings; Char Siu Bao / barbecue pork buns; and some surprises)
🍵 Special tea-based cocktails, traditional Chinese tea drinks, and everything in between

But in Berlin, this culture is still quietly hidden.
This month, we’re bringing it to life.
🍵 What is Dim Sum, really?
Dim sum comes from the Cantonese tradition of yum cha (飲茶)—literally “drinking tea.”
Traditionally, it’s a morning-to-brunch ritual: families and friends gathering early in the day to share tea, small dishes, and long conversations.
But as Cantonese culture traveled—especially through Hong Kong immigrants—it evolved.
In Western cities, dim sum has grown into something more flexible: not just breakfast or brunch, but a social experience that can last well into the evening.
This is not a typical dinner event.
This is a social ritual.
