——— DILES QUE NO ME MATEN (MX)Diles que no me maten are a five-piece band from Mexico City, blending krautrock, wiry art rock, bluesy balladry and poetic mysticism. Founded in 2017 by brothers Raúl (drums) and Gerardo (guitar) Ponce, the band build their sound through improvisation and experimentation.
Their fourth album, Escrito en Agua (Writ in Water), is their most consciously crafted and accessible record to date, exploring silence, spirituality, aging and death through unhurried compositions and intense emotional depth. Produced by longtime collaborator Sebastián Rojas, the album also draws inspiration from poet Mahmoud Darwish and the morning star Tunuwame, patron of singers and musicians in western Mexican indigenous myth.
