The QM-UNIDROIT Institute for Transnational Commercial Law (ITCL), co-directed by Professor Anna Veneziano and Professor Rosa Lastra, presents the QM-UNIDROIT Lecture Series coordinated by Dr Kamala Dawar. Running from mid-October 2025 to December 2026, the lecture series aims to share the Advisory Board's extensive expertise and the essential role of UNIDROIT in harmonising transnational commercial law. The hybrid lecture will be followed by a networking opportunity at CCLS to encourage further discussion and interaction with Professor Taylor.

Professor John Taylor is an Honorary Professor of International Finance and Trade Law at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London. He is an independent consultant specialising in international law, trade finance, digital assets, law and policy reform, and is Co-Founder and Director of the Centre for Applied Sustainable Transition Law (CASTL). With over thirty years of experience, he has worked across international public and private law, banking, capital markets, trade finance, and digital assets on four continents. His career includes fourteen years at leading law firms and eighteen years at three public international financial institutions, including serving as General Counsel of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). He has also held senior legal and banking roles at the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank. In the private sector, he served as Head of International Finance at Banque Paribas Capital Markets and oversaw legal and compliance functions globally for INVESCO UK outside North America. Additionally, he is a strategic adviser to an award-winning fintech company.
