ABOUT SUPER HI-FI
Formed in the eclectic music scene of Honolulu, SUPER HI-FI is a powerhouse quartet delivering a fresh blend of post-punk and post-rock music and epic covers.
The band is anchored by a formidable rhythm section: bassist ANDREW JACKSON formerly of Downfly and TV Yellow, and currently with the Granite Saints, and drummer SCOTT CULBERTSON also formerly of Downfly and TV Yellow. At the forefront is vocalist and guitarist MICHEL ROI, formerly of the acclaimed 90s band Killjoy.
AMBER ROI returns on vocals. She's been singing professionally for over twenty years, shaped by Tool, Radiohead, and Sade, her earlier shows with the band earned real praise for her powerful, emotive delivery.
Beyond their work as SUPER HI-FI, the original three members also perform as THE SMYTHES, a tribute band dedicated to the legendary Manchester group, THE SMITHS. Formed nearly six years ago, THE SMYTHES bring Morrissey and Marr’s timeless songs to life with both reverence and their own spirited touch.
This show will feature new material, goth post-punk covers. The sound draws from the angular urgency of eighties post-punk and the expansive texture of nineties alternative rock- dynamic, immersive and built on intricate musicality.

(Post Punk, Goth, 80s, Industrial, Dark Electro, Post-Punk, and Alternative Rock)
DJ NOCTURNA is a veteran club DJ, events promoter, radio broadcaster, and music journalist living in Honolulu, Hawaii, a legend of the local dark alternative, goth, post-punk, and 80s music scene, which she’s helped shaped for over 20 years. For over 16 years she hosted the radio program A Feast of Friends on KTUH 90.1 FM, one of the station’s longest-running shows. She’s the resident DJ and a promoter for Acid Wash, the longest-running 80s night in town, and the founder of the goth, dark alternative event Dies in the Light. She also hosts the YouTube channel Charting the Higher Octave, a music channel where she interviews artists across the post-punk, goth, dark wave and alternative rock music world, from legends to the new generation.
DJ G-SPOT is a legendary Honolulu-based international vinyl DJ, promoter, and radio host on KTUH 90.1 FM, who helped build Hawaii’s and Miami's electronic dance and rave scenes. Longtime host of the Underground Music show on KTUH, he co-founded the Oahu edition of the iconic electronic dance party called The Love Festival in 1998, along with DJ Reza. It grew into one of the biggest dance events of the year, drawing over ten thousand people at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park. One of the few DJs still spinning vinyl, he digs through crates for rare pressings and plays them the way vinyl was meant to be spun. His passion for music lies in the groovy basslines and soaring vocals of New York and Chicago House Music and the English progressive sound, the roots of the scene he helped build.
